I appear on Sputnik Radio out of Moscow on April 14th. It feels different in the States right now. I watched it when the Americans decided to fire 59 tomahawk missiles into Syria. And I saw it again when they used a bomb known as MOAB that carried 11,000 lbs of exposives into Afghanistan. I even see it when President Trump sends a U.S. Naval battle group to North Korea. A lot of people in U.S. like it. I think they like the feeling of strength and certinty in an uncertain world. However, a strange aspect of it is that these same people seem to see this like a sports contest of sorts. Similar analogies are even being used. My guess is that few to none of these people have death as a result of war up close and personal. Maybe if they were a lot closer to the action, they might reconsider their positions. Lets hope they never have to . . . I recall Iraq, Afghanistan, Darfur, Kosovo, Palestine, and more. They all come back at me as I watch and cover this.
This will be an interesting conversation. It has been reported that Sputnik is controled by Putin and therefore is nothing but propaganda. Of course, the same could be said for muich of American media. Everybody has their own ax to grind. My intent is to just tell the truth based upon how I see it. Can't really do much more than that. Hope you can catch it.
