About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does.  As a trial lawyer, its his most important tool.  As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally.  As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[Voice of America Intl. Edition] May 17th: Jack Talks Special Prosecutor

I always appreciate appearing on Voice of America International  The interviews are always well thought out with an eye toward history.  That is particularly important in a case like this.  When people are neck deep in the moment, it can sometimes be difficult to see anything with perspective.  However, when one talks about the U.S. presidency and bringing in a special prosecutor to look at the issue of whether a sitting President may have colluded with the Russians, it is absolutely one for the history books.

Robert Mueller is a former FBI Director.  In fact, he was the Director under both President Bush and President Obama.  This is important.  Again, with a view of history in mind, having somebody with a bias would do a horrible disservice for the country.  Get somebody with one agenda that is looking for any reason to prosecute this President and you risk alienating a massive group of Americans as well as politicize and delegitimatize the process.  Go the other direction and you risk ignoring the possibility that the Russians not only manipulated an election but did it with the help of the sitting President.  Worse, this would also mean that Russian President Putin would still have something on the President and could make him nothing but a puppet.  Again, not a desirable outcome either.

So, to look at these issues with VOA is always a pleasure.  I hope you can listen.
