About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does.  As a trial lawyer and trial skills teacher aroud the world, its his most important tool. As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally.  As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[KGO San Francisco] June 2nd: Jack Talks Ramifications of U.S. Withdrawing from the World

I appear on KGO San Francisco with my buddy Chip Franklin on June 2nd.  So, what happens when Donald Trump withdraws from agreements and then subsequently attacks all of our allies? Consider Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Accords, attacking Germany's Merkel, attacking NATO, and disclosing classified information of one of our closest allies to the Russians.  The problem is this creates a massive vacuum and is exactly what the Russians would prefer.  In fact, we have already seen the Russians and the Chinese step into the void.

In the end, one benefit of assuming world leadership is to set the agenda.  When you cede it, you lose that ability and risk being excluded completely.  Trump has done exactly this.

This will be a fun conversation.

[KGO San Francisco] May 31st: Jack Talks Trump Investigation and Real News

I appear on KGO San Francisco on May 31st at 8:30 p.m. e.s.t. with my old friend Chip Franklin. Its interesting how Trump and his minions continue to call the Russia investigation "fake news" when it is anything but. Specifically, and most recently, I'm talking about the investigation about Jared Kuchner establishing a covert communication with Russia.  Then of course, the Administration comes out and verifies the so-called "back channel."  Again, let me be clear, this is not a back channel.

Nobody of even limited compentence would allow an adversary to establish and completely control a secret covert communication that purposely excludes the Legislative branch, the Judicial branch and evemn the Executive branch and leaves all of it in the hands of an adversary. He purposely was trying to exclude the Justice Department, the CIA, the FBI, the NSA and everybody else. Consider and compare how Trump treats the Russians compared to one of our oldest and strongest allies, the Germans. In fact, consider how the Russians would want the U.S. to treat the Germans?  Coincidence?  I think not!

Hope you can listen.

[KGO San Francisco] May 11th: Jack Talks Trump's Shifting Truth Regarding Comey Firing

I appear on KGO with Chip Franklin on May 11th at 7:30 p.m. e.s.t.  The more we "know" about the Comey firing, the stranger it gets. Are we on the 3rd or 4th justification yet?

First, It was AG and Deputy who advised firing Comey and that Trump only followed their advice. Of course, AG already recused himself from Russian investigation who then advised President to fire guy responsible for investigation? Then it was all Trump and not those guys at all. Wait. What?

Then, It was because of Clinton emails back in 2016 and not about now. Then it was his behavior now. It's because he's a grandstander. This is all from the same people saying this including POTUS.

Then, It was because the FBI was in disarray. However, the new acting FBI Dir rejected that during testimony today.

Then Trump said Comey told Trump three times he wasn't under investigation. Everybody, everybody, said a sitting FBI director would never say that about an ongoing investigation.

I'm starting to wonder if it would be better if we just sent somebody into the WH to sing to Trump, Wheels on the Bus, everyday to keep him busy.

This is going to be interesting.
