About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does.  As a trial lawyer and trial skills teacher aroud the world, its his most important tool. As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally.  As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[I24 International News] January 17th: North and South Korea under One Flag?

[I24 International News] January 3rd: Did I just Make a Joke About the President's Button? Um, yes, yes I did!

[KARE 11 TV] November 28th: Jack Talks Latest North Korean ICBM Launch

I appear on Kare 11 Minneapolis with John Croman.  The North Koreans have just launched their latest ICBM.  We haven't seen anything for several months and here comes another.  The U.S. just put them back on the list of State sponsors of terror.  As a result of the this latest test, rhetoic continues to heat up on both sides.  The only one seemingly calling for calm is the South Koreans.  Frankly it makes the most sense considering if the world lights on fire, South Korea is the likeliest to burn first.

This will be a tough conversation on a topic with very few easy answers.  Hope you can catch it.

[KOA Denver] November 21st: Jack Talks North Korean Terrorism Sponsor Designation

I appear on KOA Denver on November 22nd.  The President made a decision to put North Korea back on the list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.  They join Sudan and Iran.  What's interesting about this is whether or not it will make any difference at all. This could impact more trade internationally and with the Chinese specifically and isolate the North Koreans even more. The fear is that this could push the North Koreans to make catastrophic decisions when it would not be necessary. And a catastrophic decision could result in hundreds of thousands of deaths so this is a massive issue to be considered.

This hsould be an interesting conversation.

[I24 International] November 20th: Jack Talks N. Korea Receives Sponsor of Terror Designation

[KOA Denver] September 26th: Jack Talks North Korea and the Inevitable

I appear on KOA Denver on September 26th. The rhetoric between the United States and the North Koreans continues to ramp up. So do the provocations. The North Koreans continue to fire missiles, conduct tests, and make ugly videos. President Trump continues to promise destruction and fly U.S. bombers off the coast of the North Korean coast.

The problem is, at this level, one side or the other could easily make a mistake and that is all it would take.  Its all well and good to pound your chest and talk tough but if somebody, anybody pushes a button, hundreds of thousands, maybe millions could die.

And the rhetoric continues.

[I24 International News] September 6th: Jack Talks Iran and Preemptive Strikes

I appear on I24 International News on September 6th. Today is the 10th Anniversary of the Israelis bombing a nuclear facility in Syria.  Fast forward 10 years and contemplate what might have happened if they hadn't?Subsequent intelligence concluded thew Israelis hit a facility designed to create plutonium for weapons and apparently the Syrians were receiving help from the North Koreans.  Further, imagine, what the Syrians might have done to their own people with these weapons?  As horrifyingly, contemplate ISIS being able to acquire the weapons?

This brings us to the present day and this highlights the question of what should be done with North Korea or even Iran.  This promises to be a spirited debate as I understand I am going to be debating an Israeli Likud party member who believes in preemptive strikes and that Iran should be the next target.

I disagree.

Prepare for the fight.  This is going to get interesting as its all well as good to talk tough about war and death when you've never seen it.  I, sadly, have and I don't wish it upon anybody.
