About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does.  As a trial lawyer, its his most important tool.  As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally.  As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[Voice of America Intl. Edition] September 6th: Jack Talks How Russian Intel Recruits a President

I appear on Voice of America International Edition on September 6th.  As Robert Mueller and multiple Congressional committees continue to investigate connections between Mr. Trump and the Russians, the story continues to spin. However, as a former CIA officer, I can't help but contemplate how Russian Intelligence absolutely tried to manipulate the election and certainly were attempting to recruit the inner circle of the President elect if not the President elect himself. The evidence is blatantly clear and frankly totally reasonable under the circumstances. This is what intelligence organizations were created to do and the Russians are absolutely no different.

The latest revelation involves Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen's acknowledgement that he was absolutely trying to build a Trump Tower in Moscow as late as January 2016.  Further, the organizations signed a letter of intent and Trump himself was absolutely made aware of these efforts which were extensive.  And yet, Trump himself through the entire campaign specifically denied any connection whatsoever to any dealings except the Miss Universe Pageant. Well, this was, to put it simply, a lie.  So, how does this impact an intelligence organization that is certainly targeting him?

This is going to be a fun interview.

[Russian TV Moscow] August 1st: Jack Talks Pentagon Report on Afghan Military Sex Abuse

I appear on Russian TV Moscow on August 1st. I recognize that the Russians have an agenda and I also recognize that Russian media is driven from the Kremlin. I know that the Kremlin likes to report on things that make the U.S. look bad. Again, all of that is not shocking. That being said, the real question is whether what they are reporting is true and whether or not the U.S. is also reporting it. As a result, I am willing to comment on certain things.

The U.S. government's Afghanistan watchdog, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction's latest quarterly report, has asked the Pentagon to declassify a report about alleged sexual abuse of children by members of the Afghan security forces. I agree. This needs to come out and needs to be addressed. I recognize that this is embarrassing the U.S. government and for the Pentagon who continues to work closely with the Afghan military. However, to ignore it and act like it doesn't exist makes the U.S. complicit and that is simply unacceptable.

The U.S. has to stand up for human rights and fight abuse where they can. There is no excuse or way to turn away and act like it doesn't exist when its own watchdog organization says there is a problem.

This is going to be an interesrting conversation and an important one.

[AM 950 Minneapolis] March 28th: Jack Talks Long List of Russian Enemy Deaths

I appear on AM 950 in Minneapolis on March 28th.  It is quite exttraordinary that over the last decade plus, an amazing number of Russiam state enemies have ended up dead and this truly isn't an exageration.  From the likes of Alexander Litvinenko to the former PM of Ukraine.  Then there are the strange number of poisonings. This is not an exageration either.  We will discuss this long history and how this may be contiuning under Vladimir Putin.

I'm excited.  This is going to be fun.

I will appear on Russian TV International on September 5th at 6 pm e.s.t  A recent story in the Washington Post is being felt around the world. According to the Post, U.S. Intelligence is stepping into the investigation of hacking of political campaigns and they are focusing on Russia.  The Russians certainly have expertise in this area and they seem to have been involved in such campaigns in Ukraine and Georgia in the last few years. The idea that they are working in the U.S. is frankly not farfetched at all.

It is going to be interesting to have a long conversation about this issue on Russian TV International out of Moscow.  In fact, this is going to be a lot of fun.  Hope you can watch.

[Russian TV International] Monday, June 27th: Jack Talks CIA Weapons in the Wrong Hands.

A story broke today about CIA weapons meant for rebel opposition groups in Syria are ending up in the wrong hands. Wasn't this foreseeable? I'm shocked! I'll appear on RT international out of Moscow to discuss at 7 pm est.

When I frist heard about this story, the first thing that came to mind was Afghanistan in the 1980's.  Then, I started thinking about almost everytime the U.S. has provided weaons to oppostion groups, this has happened.  And yet, the U.S. continues to do it.  Why?  An interesting question.

Hope you can catch it.

[NBC Nightly News Appearance] July 9th: Talk on Law and Russian Spies

I appear on NBC Nightly News on Friday, July 9th at 6 p.m. e.t.  With the biggest spy swap since the Cold War, there are a lot of questions about who won in the swap.  that is a very difficult question and both sides had different goals.  However, one this is very clear.  Spying has never stopped and will likely increase as intelligence is more important than ever before.

Hope you can watch it.

[MSNBC Appearance] The Ed Schultz Show, Friday, July 2nd: Talk on Law and Russian Spies

I appear on MSNBC's The Ed Schultz Show on Friday, July 2nd at 6:30 p.m. e.t.  With the story involving the alleged Russian spies continues to develop, I will join the program to talk about the intelligence implications and also about the possible criminal charges that they face.  It is strange how this story feels like a throw back to the Cold War.  Pretty wild.

Hope you can watch.

[Thom Hartmann Show Appearance] Friday, July 2nd: Talk on Law and Espionage

I appear on The Thom Hartmann Show on Friday, July 2nd at noon e.t.  Ten Russians have been charged with various charges including spying for the SVR, the organization that replaced the KGB.  However, these people were not diplomats.  These people were known as illegals.  As a result, they do not have diplomatic immunity and could go into U.S. prisons.  Will it happen?

This should be a fun interview.  Hope you can listen.
