About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does.  As a trial lawyer and trial skills teacher aroud the world, its his most important tool. As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally.  As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[KNUS Denver] February 8th: How Do You Protect the Olympics From Terrorists?

I appear on KNUS Denver with my buddy Steffan Tubbs on February 8th. The Olympics taking place in PyeongChang, South Korea. Every Olympics can be a challenge from a security perspective but if you are only miles away from one of the most volatile countries on the planet, North Korea, the challenge can be especially dicey.

The South Koreans are deploying more than 50,000 soldiers and another 10,000 civilian security personnel. It certainly doesn't end there.  Other countries have also added security expertise.  The Central Intelligence Agency, the Transportation Security Administration and the State Department have also added components.  Others, including the Israelis are certainly going to have some of their own security.

This will be an interesting conversation.

[KOA Denver] June 5th: Jack Talks Latest London Attack

I appear on KOA Denver with my buddy Steffan Tubbs on June 5th at 8:10 a.m. e.s.t.  Britain has been hit by its thrid terrorist attack since March.  While each attack individually is horrible, the cumulative impact is certainly taking its toll.  Add to that that Britain is in the middle of a national election.  And yet, Britain continues to stand tall and carry on.  Frankly, it is quite impressive and something that I think the United States could emulate.  The reality is that we live in a difficult world and there will always be some unstable, disenfranchised and easily manipulated individuals who are willing to do terrible things.  Until each of us is put into our own individual cages, this will always be the case.

This promises to be a good conversation.  Steffan is sharp as hell and is a consummate professional.

[KOA Denver] March 21st: Jack Talks Trump Russian Intel. Investigation

I appear on KOA in Denver on 3/21 at 6 am cst to discuss FBI & NSA testimony before Congressional Committee regarding Russian/Trump links. This ongoing conversation continues to dog the Trump administration.  It is certainly a distraction but the question is, is it more than that.  Is there fire where there is so much smoke.

This is going to fun. Steffan Tubbs is one of my favorite people.

[KOA Appearance] Tuesday, September 22nd: Jack Talks ISIS and U.S. Airstrikes

I appeara on KOA in Denver, Colorado with my friend Steffan Tubbs on Tuesday, September 22nd.  The U.S. has been conducting airstrikes throughout Syria to take out Syria.  It is an incredibly complex operation and the difficulty will be to determine who our friends and enemies actually are.  We will see.

This should be really interesting.

[KOA Appearance] Thursday, June 5th: Jack Talks the Bergdahl Exchange

I appear on KOA Radio in Denver Colorado with my old friend Steffan Tubbs on Thursday, June 5th.  Bowe Bergdahl was released this week after 5 years in captivity in Afghanistan.  Th Americans traded 5 Taliban fighters who have been held at Gitmo since 2002.  Steffan and I will discuss a recently released video as well as the back story behind this.

Hope you can watch.

Jack Appears on KOA Radio in Denver to Discuss Sotomayor.

Jack appears on KOA Radio in Denver with his buddy Steffan Tubbs to discuss the U.S Supreme Court confirmation hearing of Sonia Sotomayor.  With one day down, the proceedings will be dominated by Q & A between the Judge and the Senators.

Just as a side note, Steffan and I became friends on a trip to Iraq some years ago and actually learned that we were both born in the same small hospital in northern San Diego County.  Small world. . . .
