About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does.  As a trial lawyer and trial skills teacher aroud the world, its his most important tool. As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally.  As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[RTTV Washington DC] April 10th: Jack Talks U.S./Russian Talks

I appear on RTTV with Ed Schultz on April 10th.  U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is just finishing up the G7 Summit in Italy and on his way to Moscow for talks and boy is there a lot to talk about.  The U.S. just conducted airstrikes in Syria and there are enormous disagreements on that front.  In addition, the Russians are still at the epicenter of a firestorm in Washington regarding their tampering with American elections and there are multiple investigations taking place in Washington to get to the bottom of that.  And to some degree, tied to the Russian tampering is an issue that is near and dear to the Russians' heart and that is sanctions.  When Russia invaded the Crimea in Ukraine, sanctions were placed on it by the West and particularly the Americans.  The Russians want those sanctions lifted.  In fact, there are many, myself included, that believe that the Russians' invovlement in U.S. elections and maybe even their collusion with the U.S., if proven, was tied directly to the sanctions question.

So, there is a lot to talk about.

[AM 950 Minneapolis] April 10th: Jack Talks a Shifting U.S. Policy Re. Syria

I appear on AM 950 in Minneapolis on April 10th at 4 p.m. c.s.t.  It's fascinating watching conflicting stories come out of the White House and from the Secretary of State regarding Syria.  The Secretary said at the G7 today in Italy that the U.S. had an obligation to "protect innocents."  He can't possibly mean this because the U.S. sat around as 500,000 died and then refused to accept refugee families from the region and went a step further and was talking about sending them back.  All of a sudden, it was abouty "beautiful babies?"  The White House said it was still about America First.  Really?  So which is it?  I'm curious about the President's supporters and whether they are buying that.  Now contemplate how the Russians and the Iranians are seeing this.  This is not simple or easy and it's unclear whether President Trump has contemplated any of these issues.

Hope you can listen.

[WKBK New Hampshire] April 11th: Jack Talks Faux Concern and Pointless Operations

I appear on WKBK in New Hampshire with Dan Mitchell on April 11th at 8:10 a.m. e..s.t. to discuss Trump's $100 million operations against Syria.  Reports have come out today that the Syrians have used the same airbase to hit the same town not long after this U.S. hit  As we watch American politicians weep about these beautiful babies regardless of the 500,00 who have already been slaughtered, there are one hell of a lot of questions that have to be asked and answered.  If we didn't care before, and we didn't, what's the difference?  What is this really about?

This promises to be fun.  Dan is a very smart guy and I always enjoy our conversations.

[WVLY West Virginia] April 10th: Jack Talks About What's Next in Syria for Trump

I appear on WVLY in West Virginia with my buddy Howard Monroe on April 10th at 8:40 a.m. e.s.t.   Reports are coming out that the Syrians have used the very same airbase that the Americans hit in the last 2 days.  Further, they targeted the very same area that was reportedly hit by chemical weapons not long ago.  So, what did this $100 million stake actually do?  Did it make any difference at all?  What comes next?

I'll talk about it with Howard.  If you are in the region or online, hope you can catch it.

[AM 950 Minneapolis] April 7th: Jack Talks U.S. Airstrikes

I appear on AM 950 in Minneapolis on April 7th at 3:30 p.m. with my friend Matt McNeil.  I appears that President Trump is getting a lot of support from the American people for his decision to fire 59 tomahawk missiles at a cost of $100 million into Syria.  Many are trying to understand why the President made this decision considering his very words about American involvement in Syria, about America first, and more.  We will discuss this and more.

Hope you can listen.

[WCCO Minneapolis] April 7th: Jack Talks U.S. Missile Strike in Syria and What Comes Next

I appear on WCCO Radio with John Williams on April 7th and 3 p.m. c.s.t.  John is a smart guy and thoughtful in his approach to stories and the news.  With President Trump makes a complete about-face regarding his foreign policy stand in Syria, there are enormouse questions to address.  Is this just a one time thing?  Will there be more airstrikes?  Will there be books on the ground?  What about the Russians?  All are issues that we will likely cover.

This should be interesting.  On a side note, this will also be interesting as I was on air for many years with WCCO.  As a result, it always feels a little bit like old home week.  That should make it a little more fun for me too.

[KOA Denver] April 7th: Jack Talks U.S. Airstrikes at Syrian Targets

I appear on KOA in Denver with my buddy Steffan Tubbs to discuss President Trump's decision to fire 59 tomahawk missiles at targets in Syria.  It is an extraordinary shift in American policy.  In fact, as recently as this week, the Secretary of State said we werent' focusing on the Assad regime.  Rather, we were targetting ISIS.  This eries of strikes promises to unend a whole series of efforts in the region. This promises to be a smart interview.

Hope you can listen if you are in the Denver area.
