About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does. As a international human rights and criminal lawyer and trial skills teacher around the world, its his most important tool. As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally. As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[KNUS Denver] April 27th: Peace on the Korean Peninsula?

I appear on on KNUS Denver with my old buddy Steffan Tubbs.  Is there finally going to be peace between the North and South Koreans.  Kim and Moon met today, only the third time leaders of the two nations have ever met. Further, North Korea's Kim is scheduled to meet with President Trump sometime in June. Trump and Kim are expected to talk nucs. It is difficult to conceive of Kim willingly giving up nuclear weapons or truly anything the U.S. is willing to provide in exchange that would motivate Kim to do so. Of course, Trump is likely to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal which may actually make coming to agreement with the North Korean leader even harder.

I will discuss this and more on the program. I'm excited.

[KNUS Denver] March 19th: President Putin, again

I appear on KNUS Denver with my buddy Steffan Tubbs.  President Putin wins again for a third term.  He's at the epicenter of power and working the Chinese, the Turks, the Syrians, the Americans and more.  In fact, it is quite impressive what he is capable of right now. In fact, Putin has become synonymous with Russia itself. The only question amongst some is what does a post-Putin Russia even look like.

I'm looking forward to this conversation.

[KNUS Denver] January 19th: Knowing You Might Not Make it Changes You

I appear on KNUS Denver with my very dear frient Steffan Tubbs. This is going to be interesting as we are going to spend an hour just . . . talking about life, fear, IEDs, and more. Steffan and I have spent time together in some extremely dangerous and and even petrifying places. We are going to talk about what that means and how that changes you.  This promises to be interesting, different . . .

Hope you can catch this if you are in the Denver area.

[KOA Denver] May 10th: Jack Talks Trump's Decision to Fire FBI Director

I appear on KOA Denver with my old friend Steffen Tubbs.  Richard Nixon fired Special Prosecutor Archibald Cox in 1973 as Cox was looking into the Watergate scandal. This story of President Trump firing Jim Comey feels a little like that. The problem is the major investigation into the Russia/Trump connection was being driven by the FBI.  This raises enormous questions and we are starting to hear voices from both sides of the aisle including Senator Richard Burr, Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee potentially calling for a special prosecutor to step in.  Oh, and Burr's a Republican. This story is actually growing, not shrinking. This may have been a very serious miscalculation on the part of President Trump  We will see.

Hope you can listen.

[KOA Denver] March 24th: Jack Talks Latest on London Attack

I appear on KOA in Denver on March 24th at 8:10 a.m. e.s.t with my buddy Steffan Tubbs.  With the dead now at 5, including the attacker, the Brits are trying to assess exactly how a British citizen committed this act.  The rocess will be timely but there are a lot of questions.  He was apparently known to British security forces but for some reason, he wasn't that much of a priority.  Of course, there are limited recources and realities. And yet, London is one of the most closely surveilled cities in the world.  So what does all of this mean.

This will be an interesting conversation.

[KOA Radio Appearance] Wednesday, June 30th: Talk on Law and Russian Spies

I appear on Denver, Colorado based KOA Radio on June 30th at 9 a.m. e.t. The fallout continues to spin regarding the 10 alleged Russian spies who have been scooped up by federal authorities.  Upon closer inspection, this truly feels like a blast from the past.  However, as a former CIA officer, I recall having conversations with other CIA colleagues about what foreign intelligence services would do after the fall of the Berlin Wall.  The shift has frequently turned economic and about international business.  I will join KOA to talk about what it means and the legal ramifications.  As a criminal defense attorney, I will talk about how to defend somebody charged with this.

Hope you can listen.
