About Jack

Jack is really a storyteller, international explorer, and humanitarian and everything else rolls out from there. As a writer, its what he does. As a international human rights and criminal lawyer and trial skills teacher around the world, its his most important tool. As a former CIA officer, the only way to truly motivate people is to connect and to tell them a story that they can feel viscerally. As a media analyst, what better way to make a point.  In the end, he tries to captivate his audience about the world and its people as much as he himself is captivated.

[WKBK Appearance] Monday, June 2nd: Jack Talks Terrorism and Bergdahl

I appear on WKBK out of Keene, NH with Dan Mitchell on Monday, June 2nd.  Bowe Bergdahl was just released from captivity in Afghanistan.  Of course, we traded five Taliban fighters for him.  If we don't negotiate with terrorists, is there a way to reconcile this?  I care a lot less about the politics behind it and why this party is right and this party is wrong.  I'm far more interested in the ramifications.

This is going to be fun!

[WKBK Appearance] Wednesday, June 22nd: Jack Talks Law and Afghanistan Pullout

I appear on WKBK's Dan Mitchell Show on Wednesday, June 22nd at 8 a.m. c.t.  President Obama is preparing to withdraw around 35,000 troops from Afghanistan.  What is the significance for national security and will this be enough for his base?  Further, what are the political consequences of such a withdrawal.

An interesting conversation.

[WKBK Appearance] Wednesday, March 2nd: Talk on Libya and Revolution

I appear on WKBK Radio in New Hampshire on Wednesday, March 2nd.  Libya is now blowing apart.  It follows the revolution in Egypt but alongside instability in Yemen, Tunisia and other parts of the Middle East.  Col. Gadhafi has been in power since 1969 and is trying for a bit longer.  The Americans and Europeans seem unclear on how to respond.  This is not shocking.  They have generally supported stability and the future brings the unknown.  This should be an interesting conversation.

Hope you can catch it.

[WKBK Appearance] Monday, January 31st: Talk on Egyptian Revolution

I appear on WKBK Radio in New Hampshire on Monday, January 31st.  Egypt is blowing apart.  The President is teetering on the edge.  He has just replaced his cabinet in an effort to make a difference.  It won't.  However, the ramifications of the Americans supporting Hosni Mubarak  may have a long lasting negative impact upon the future in Cairo and the rest of the Middle East.

I will appear on WKBK to talk about the region and what it means there . . . and here.  Hope you can catch it.

On the Air with Dan Mitchell on WKBK.

I'm a big fan of Dan Mitchell on WKBK.  We were talking about Afghanistan and my recent trip into the region.  I expect to do an extended one hour interview with him next week to talk about what comes next.  Should be a lot of fun!

Hope you can catch it.
